Sunderland AFC’s 2019-20 adidas away kit has been revealed – and it is now on sale via the club’s online store.
Supporters taking a seaside stroll on Monday evening caught a sneak-peak of the new strip, as members of the first team, academy, SAFC Ladies, club staff and supporters swapped the studio for the seafront.
Building on the ‘One Club, Our Club’ campaign launched earlier this week, Max Power – and his son, who plays in the club’s academy – Bali Mumba and Keira Ramshaw were joined by club chefs Patrick Lesca and Joyce Rome and supporters Bradley Armstrong and Hannah Potts on Roker beach.
Speaking about the launch, SAFC’s managing director, Tony Davison, said:
“Monday’s photoshoot was a refreshing change from the stereotypical studio set-up, and it was great to see the various different parts of our club coming together as one.
“We all know the excitement of picking up a new strip ahead of a new season, and from Max and Bali to Keira and the supporters, it was great to capture that feeling of anticipation first-hand and show that no matter your role, a Sunderland shirt is a shirt for everyone.”
Midfielder Power added:
“The kids have been asking me about the new kits all summer, so Maxi was buzzing to be able to take part and it was great to do it alongside some of the people at the club that you might not normally come across.
“From the staff to the supporters, and countless people behind the scenes, there are a lot of great people here, and whether you play for the first team, academy or ladies, or follow any of us from the terraces, that same pride exists whenever and wherever you wear the badge.”
Available in store from 9am on Thursday 11 July the Lads’ brand-new strip is now on sale via the club’s online store.
After its parent company, GVC Holdings, announced an end to its football sponsorship programme, SAFC’s principal partner BETDAQ has gifted its front-of-shirt presence to the charity Children with Cancer UK.
The Children with Cancer UK logo will cover the BETDAQ name on SAFC’s home and away kits throughout the 2019-20 season.
Supporters are advised that the logo will not appear on junior sizes shirts.
Please also note, children’s mini kits will not be available at launch and a further update regarding this will follow in due course.
