We are currently looking to recruit a Residential Child Carer to work within Children’s Residential Services in Sunderland.
Applicants need to be committed to providing quality care for autistic children and young people. You must be able to demonstrate enthusiasm, initiative and resilience for what is often a very demanding but rewarding vocation. You will have a sound educational background and good communication and interpersonal skills as you will be expected to liaise with parents and professionals within the home along with outside agencies. Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate patience and flexibility as our children and young people often have learning difficulties and display challenging behaviour. Successful candidates will be expected to complete a Diploma Level 3 in Residential Child Care, if not already achieved or hold an equivalent qualification.
Any successful candidate must to be committed to providing quality care and will need to demonstrate flexibility as the role involves working unsociable hours in addition to being prepared to support a range of activities including personal care, cooking and cleaning within the home.
Comprehensive training will be provided to equip you to perform all aspects of your role.
