Learning Curve Group Recruitment are currently working with one of Wales largest training providers who are looking to recruit a Managing Internal Quality Assurer to lead, motivate and develop a team of Assessors to drive performance and quality of delivery across all learning programmes in line with contract compliance, ensuring high quality teaching, learning and assessment for all learners.
Responsible for motivating and developing a team of Assessors to ensure learners have a positive learning experience.
Effective team and caseload management; ensuring performance outcomes are achieved timely in accordance with the planned learner journey and evidenced in line with the contract and profile requirements.
Responsible for the allocation of starts to assessors
Responsible for managing the learner journey process
Accountable for coaching and developing Assessors to achieve ‘excellent’ in their grading
Have an understanding of planned profiles each month, planning to ensure the profiles are achieved.
Responsible for completing IQA reports with sufficient detailed to support and improve performance
Responsible for managing, planning and completing observations of Assessors to ensure the IQA strategy is met
Effective use of online platform to develop learner resources
Develop and maintain relationships with third parties to ensure a positive image is promoted at all times, inclusive of employers, award bodies, learners and key stakeholders
Responsible for ensure vetting and monitoring activity is carried out in accordance with the stipulations of the Welsh Assembly Government Health and Safety Code of Practice
Support and work with other key personnel in the assisting, organise and planning of SV visits; managing and plan standardisation activities; running of standardisation meetings and sharing best practice across all sectors
Responsible for managing sampling and verification activities to improve the progression and achievement of learners and to ensure consistency across the team
Responsible for ensuring that all IQA activities continually meet the needs of the learners, exceed the requirements of Awarding Organisations, Welsh Government and Estyn
Manage delivery models and other resources to embed a consistent and standardised approach to delivery
Accountable for ensuring literacy and numeracy are embedded throughout the learning programme
Accountable for ensuing Assessors embed the cross cutting themes of Safeguarding/Prevent, ESDGC, Wales the Language and Culture, Equality & Diversity and Health & Safety/Well-being
Participate in and/or manage all aspects of EQA visits resulting in a positive visit
Responsible for ensuring all staff are aware of developments in their occupational sector by way of self-study and research and CPD logs / records maintained
Support the Contract Manager by identifying improvements to the IQA strategy through a processes of review to improve delivery and performance success rates
Aid in the development of new qualifications and gain centre/scheme approval when necessary
Accountable for the development of resources and learning materials to support a wide range of vocational and learning needs.
Ensure that the IV system is performed and maintained as per the NVQ code of practice
Ensure compliance with Awarding body, QCA, Sector Skills Council, the NVQ Code of Practice Requirements and the JAB guidance on Internal Verification at all times.
Maintain Award Body records as per the NVQ code of practice
Responsible for the handling and escalating, as required, client / learner complaints
Maintain knowledge and adherence to Work Based Learning Professional Standards, Education Workforce Code of Practice and company’s Code of Conduct
Setting, measuring and review of individual/team KPIs and performance targets
Provide support to team members to ensure their effectiveness
Conduct team reviews and appraisals.
Ensure team members maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers and can identify business opportunities for the whole company.
Authorise, plan and monitor absences and holidays
Recruitment of departmental staff
Dealing with Disciplinary and Grievances with team members
Monitor, track and authorise travel expenses of team member
Carry out regular training needs analysis of team to determine training requirements
Deliver training to team members
Assist and ensure the professional development of the team.
Manage on a regular and timely basis and agree and implement intervention strategies where appropriate.
Conducting support visits on site with Assessors
Induction and mentoring of new employees
Conducting spot checks on site and via the diary management system
To ensure security of company assets
To comply with all company policies and procedures
To comply with the companies safeguarding policy & procedure

To implement in full the Company’s quality policies and procedures.
To consult the Company Health and Safety Policy with regards to their specific responsibilities as described in the general arrangements section
To give consideration to their actions at work as to how they may affect the safety of Learners, clients and visitors to Company premises

Co-operate with all staff to achieve a healthy and safe workplace and reporting any risks identified, at the company’s or others premises, to the designated Health and Safety Officer.

Attend relevant training / personal development programmes
– Assessor qualification
– IQA qualification or equivalent or willing to work towards
– Relevant occupational competence
– Experience of delivering training and support
– Management / Supervisory experience
– Experience and a proven track record of leading people
– Full driving licence with use of own vehicle
– Safeguarding and Prevent knowledge and understanding
– In depth knowledge of Apprenticeship programmes including framework requirements, IQA processes and assessment methods
– In depth knowledge of Awarding Organisation requirements
– In depth knowledge of Estyn Inspection requirements
– Experience of co-ordinating EQA visits
– Been actively involved in an Estyn Inspection
