Title: Community Enterprise Anchor
Location: Carnegie Community Corner, 67 Toward Road, Hendon,
Sunderland, SR2 8JG.
Contract Start Date: April 2020
Duration: 2 years
Wage: £20-£22k depending on experience
Annual Leave: 28 days (plus bank holidays)
Responsible to: Finance, Office & Governance Manager
Responsible for: No line management responsibilities however you will be required to oversee the work of community staff team, apprentices and community volunteers at times.
Purpose of the Post: To lead and implement the development of new income generation streams to assist with realising ambitions of the Charity to expand our services and further our sustainability. The post holder will work closely with residents to develop micro enterprises to generate income to sustain community services. In addition to developing new business through our Enterprise arm Back on the Map Homes and our new Social Lettings Agency. Ensuring Back on the Map achieves its strategic objectives of creating A Better Place, A Stronger Community and An Influencing Role for Residents.
Develop & maintain networks to facilitate high quality community intelligence to inform programme delivery
Consult, plan and implement community development plans for the Workshop that bring about improvements in Hendon
Work with residents to develop Micro Enterprises – including new development Social Shed, Social Space & Social Laundry
Work with the wider BotM team to develop business ideas for income generation, including Social Letting Agency and Back on the Map Community Repairs Service.
Work with volunteers and community groups to increase income through sales.
Develop Partnership Agreements – to attract crucial provision, bolster income and ensure sustainability of services
Develop revenue income streams to sustain provision at the Workshop.
Develop Contract Income streams from Social Prescribing &Personal Independence Budgets to increase income & provide services for the community.
Encourage residents to engage with and positively influence BotM provision, facilities and services
Develop and maintain positive relationships with partner agencies in order that opportunities to increase service delivery/agencies are optimised.
Develop relationships with strategic funders and statutory bodies to ensure future joint work opportunities are maximised.
Help secure funds from a range of sources including commissioned work, grants, sponsorship and loans.
Contribute to the development and implementation of a fundraising and income-generation strategy.
Secure funding for projects/services, monitor and evaluate their effectiveness.
Collate data and co-ordinate monitoring and evaluation returns and submission of reports to funders and partners
Contribute to strategy development
Establish and maintain accurate records of events, activities, volunteers, groups etc.
Assist in planning, implement and manage health & safety policies/procedures, ensure proper use/care of facilities/ equipment/materials.
Allocate resources transparently and maintain accurate records of all expenditure, outputs, etc.
Promote and publicise BotM projects and partnership activities, acting as an ambassador for Back on the Map and its services/projects.
Uphold company policies and procedures, and demonstrate agreed values and behaviours, including an open, user-friendly and supportive demeanour.
Help staff to develop confidence and competence by modelling good practice and acting as a mentor
Promote the BotM brand and ethos in a strong and positive manner at all times.
