Former WBC world boxing champion Frank Bruno dropped in at the Alexandra Steakhouse in Grangetown to help a Sunderland based community Interest Company.
The evening with the British boxing hero raised funds for Veterans in Crisis – who assists former military personnel.
Frank told Sun FM that he thinks veterans need more help after leaving the army.
One of the thing VIC deal with is the mental health and well being of the former service personnel.
It’s well documented the problems Frank has had himself with his bi-polar condition.
During the evening the boxing legend held a question and answer session with the Alexandra audience and spoke openly and honestly about all aspects of his personal life and professional career.
He also posed for photographs with fans at the event which included an auction of sport memorabilia to help raise funds for Victims in Crisis.
Ger Fowler the founder of the CIC Veterans In Crisis spoke of how the funds raised on the First Class Promotions night would all be spent in Sunderland.
