Sunderland Illuminations are back for 2018, with lights spreading sparkle from St Peters Church all along the seafront. As well as feature lighting, the illuminated observation wheel will return to Cliffe Park along with fairground rides and quality catering concessions.
Roker Park will be transformed into a Festival of Light and will be open Thursday – Sunday every week, plus every night during October half term.

Tickets to the Festival of Light cost £2 per person (children aged 2 and under go free) and can be booked online now
New for 2018 – there will be no ticket sales on the entrance gates of Roker Park, like in previous years.
New for 2018 – we have introduced entry times for the Festival of Light so we can safely manage visitor numbers in to the event. This is the time you can enter the event, once inside you can stay as long as you wish until the event closes.
The chosen date and time of your ticket is not transferrable so please ensure you select the correct information when booking.

There is a £1 discount if you buy 5 tickets or more.
E-tickets or printed tickets will be accepted to gain entry to the Festival of Light.

The entire event will be closed on Sunday 11 November due to Remembrance Sunday.
Please use the Park & Ride service. A bus service will operate from Keel Square in the City Centre to the Tram Shelter on the seafront every 10 minutes (timetable coming soon).There are over 1000 spaces in St Mary’s and Sunniside Car Parks, and you travel on the bus to and from the event site for free when showing your parking ticket from these car parks.Thursdays after 3pm is free parking, so your entire journey to the event is free!
